Power output stage for 2-phase stepping motors with integrated transformer power supply
The stepper motor power stages UMS 2N and UMS 2G are modules for the bipolar operation of 2-phase stepper motors. The power amplifiers integrate a bipolar output stage with an output current of 2.0A and an 80VA power supply unit on a 100x160mm module.
The motor current can be adjusted via a potentiometer on the front panel in the range from 0.8A to 2.0A, the current control is carried out by a chopper with a frequency of approx. 20kHz. The step resolution is optionally 200 steps/revolution. (full step mode) or 400 steps/rev. (half-step mode). To operate a stepper motor, the output stages require the control signals clock and direction. Signal inputs are also available for clock disable, output stage switch-off, motor current reduction and full/half step operation.
The power output stage is available both as a 19-inch slide-in module (3U, 10HP installation width) and integrated in a profile housing.
