IMS (insulated metal substrate) „POLYTHERM“

POLYTHERM is an insulated metal substrate (IMS), comprising an aluminum sheet, and a 35μm thick copper foil. The two layers are separated by a dielectric (epoxy resin, ceramic-filled, approx. 100 microns). Feature of the dielectric is a very high insulation resisteance, a high thermal stability and a high dielectric strength.

The high thermal conductivity of the dielectric also guarantees a fast dissipation of heat loss performance to the rear aluminum metal.
Typical applications are for example carrier boards for power LED, power amplifiers for motor drivers and voltage transformers

For producing PCB´s (wet process) our product range also includes POLYTHERM with positive resist.
To protect the aluminum plate during the etching process, a PET protective film is laminated on the aluminum plate.
